You ever seen the king Aurther type movies or the Disney movies where a child is born with royalty and an evil thing comes, takes it away and the child loses its royalty? That’s the basis of the gospel. You and I in the beginning where made greater than royalty we where divine beings from the beginning. Rulers with dominion and power. We lost it, all of it. Just like the child in the movies we were raised like commoners without knowledge of our true identity. Like that child we labored at the mercy of evil, accepted trash under the foot of the devil who ruled the world. We losing our divinity mad us spiritually dead. Nonetheless, we built nations, learned new things built various destructive habits but we did what we could in the circumstances given. We learnt science and used it to build machines and save lives, we didn’t do a bad job. However as you and I know it wasn’t enough so we stole , murdered, raped, lied and glorified ourselves. Mutilated, bore suffering raised evil and lived in depravity, chaos and war.
It was in this state that a man in fine linen came. Just like the movies a savior from the palace or throne room who saw what evil did devised and plan and waited for the right moment to come and save the child. Our savior is a man named Jesus of Nazareth. He is a man not born by the seed of man but of God, giving him his full divinity and both of a woman making him fully human. He came and lived among us, teaching and reminding us of who we once were, how to get back home and how to live real life.
Appointed to this mission of salvation, he was hated, ridiculed, and stoned. Suffered at the mercy of evil and the ruler of the world just like us, faced every temptation just like us but he overcame all things. However to restore us to our rightful position of authority he must take the punishment that we incurred, so he chose to lay down his life, suffered upon a cross to the point of death and took on all sin. He died and rose again defeating death, sin and the ruler of the world. This act gave us the chance to have our dominion, divinity and authority back from the evil one. It placed evil at our mercy and gives us freedom to live the real life we were made to live. That is the gospel, the good news that Jesus came to share with you and I. It is a choice to listen and a more personal choice to accept. Jesus did many signs and miracles and the book of John, mark, Luke and Mathew are written that so that you may believe that Jesus is the Son of God and by believing you may have life in his name.
